Picture text here Picture text here Picture text here Setesdal Hotel is situated next to the centre of Bygland, at the Rv 9 and the beautiful Bygland fiord - halfway between Kristiansand and Hovden. The hotel was built in 1981 with a great architecture adapted to its position near the fiord. Here you will find loft-rooms, turfed roof and other methods of building which emits power and atmosphere. We have 22 double rooms – 15 family rooms with together 90 sleeping accommodations, some of them with self-housekeeping. In addition we have a café with 150 seats, entertaining- and meeting rooms, with a capacity for 10 - 120 guests. All the rooms have shower and WC, most of them also a TV. Every room has a great view over the Bygland fiord. The Bygland fiord is known for the best summer temperatures in Norway, in constant competition with the village Nesbyen. We have a fine beach close to the hotel – a municipal area called “Gullsand” (Golden Sand). Setesdal Hotel is a perfect starting point for outdoor life, hunting, fishing and other activities. In the vicinity of the hotel you will find the Bygland Museum, Glashytta, Brokke Ski Centre, Hovden swimming bath, Kristiansand Zoo, Setesdal Mineral Park, Setesdal Museum and many other sights. We arrange trips with the boat D/S Bjoren on the Bygland fiord, including a stay on an island in the fiord, and sailing through the lock system at the Storestraumen to the Reiårs waterfall – the greatest waterfall in the valley. We also arrange hiking tours for groups (firms, school classes, etc) into the Setesdal special landscape area. Setesdal Hotel is known for the good food, and the Sunday brunch attracts people from the whole province. The brunch has at least 6 warm dishes and 10 desserts (for example strawberries from the roof) for 195 NOK, including coffee, and thin wafer crisp bread. Special prices for children. |
